This Privacy Policy describes how Fixedseat collects, uses, and shares information when you use Fixedseat — including our mobile applications for iOS and Android and our website at fixedseat.com (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Effective Date: October 13, 2026
We use the information we collect to:
Fixedseat is designed as a public restaurant social network. Unless expressly noted below, your username, profile photo, bio, website link, follower and following lists, reviews, ratings, journal entries, uploaded photos, lists, comments, likes, want-to-go places, favorite places, tags, tagged users, and activity are visible by default to all registered users of Fixedseat, and in many cases to guests browsing the Services without an account (see Section 3.5).
Your reviews and ratings also contribute to the aggregate community rating displayed on each restaurant page (for example, the star histogram and "friends visited" surfaces).
The only user content that is not visible to others today is a list you mark as private — the contents of a private list are visible only to you. Private posts, private accounts, hidden follow relationships, and more granular privacy settings may be added in the future but are not currently available. Do not post content you would not be comfortable making public.
We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Services, including:
These providers are contractually required to protect your information and may only use it to provide services to us.
We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fixedseat, our users, or others.
If Fixedseat is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
Guests may browse Fixedseat without creating an account. Guests cannot open individual user profiles or view follower and following lists, but public content — including restaurant pages, restaurant photos (including photos you have uploaded), and reviews — may be visible to them. If you do not want your content shown to guests, do not post it.
Photos you upload with a log or review may be selected — automatically or by our team — to appear as the hero (banner) image on the corresponding restaurant's page in Fixedseat. Once a photo has been designated as a restaurant's hero, it may remain associated with that restaurant page even after you delete the underlying post, in order to preserve the visual continuity of the restaurant page for the community. You can request removal of a hero photo at any time by contacting us at privacy@fixedseat.com.
Your information is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes. This includes photos and other media files you have uploaded to the Services.
You may update or correct your account information at any time through the Settings screen in the mobile app, or (when available) through Settings on fixedseat.com.
You may disable location access at any time through your device settings or browser permissions. Doing so will limit your ability to find nearby restaurants within Fixedseat.
